Sophia Tallud, originally from Chicago, Illinois, is the current Education Programs Fellow at the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley. Raised in a city marked by its vibrant diversity yet troubled by racial inequities, Sophia has long been driven to address these systemic issues. Her educational journey at Santa Clara University, deeply rooted in Jesuit values, has further shaped her commitment to social justice, emphasizing the importance of being “Men and Women for Others.”
Sophia’s role at the Foundation allows her to engage directly with community-focused initiatives, aligning perfectly with her desire to make a substantive impact on societal equity. Through her work, she aims to leverage her academic background in Finance and Business Analytics to support programs that uplift and empower the local Hispanic community. Her position not only offers the opportunity to apply her skills in a meaningful way but also aligns with her personal goals of ethical leadership and empathetic engagement, embodying the Jesuit principles that have guided her life and studies.
As Sophia continues her professional journey, she is enthusiastic about the chance to contribute to a cause greater than herself. She aspires to create work that not only fosters community development but also makes the Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley and the Leavey School of Business proud.
