The LBLA Chat is a new video series where we connect with one of ourLatino Board Leadership Academy Senior Fellows. The LBLA trains Latinx professionals on how to be successful board members of nonprofit organizations. With over 500 Senior Fellows to date, we continue to pave the way for Latinx leadership in our region. This interview series gives you a glimpse into the lives of Latinx leaders by unveiling their passion, interest, and desire to improve the quality of life for all Latinos one conversation at a time.
In this video, we welcome Georgina Baca, a 2019 Class XIII Senior Fellow. Georgina Baca is a Systems Engineer at Lockheed Martin and serves on two nonprofit boards of directors in Santa Clara County, Momentum for Health and Pro Bono Legal Project. With a deep desire to give back to the Latinx community, Georgina reflects back on the 10-week LBLA program. She mentions, "LBLA allows you to have a voice in the community". Additionally, Georgina has developed some lifelong friendships along the way.
Similar to the LBLA Senior Fellows, we all play a critical role in the Latinx community. Whether it's participating as a board member, leading an ERG, or as Latinx professionals in the workplace, we are all leaders in our own right. LBLA provides you with tools to hit the ground running and educates you on how to express your voice for the greater good of the Latinx community in Silicon Valley.
We are excited to kick off our third LBLA Class of the year in just the coming weeks. Stay close to your email and our social media platforms as we'll be announcing the first session soon! The Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley depends on donations from individuals like you. With your involvement, we are addressing the needs of the Latino community, expanding the philanthropic pie, and increasing our charitable impact.
