Karina Cabrera joins the HFSV Board

The Hispanic Foundation of Silicon Valley is thrilled to announce our new board member Karina Cabrera. 

Karina, Founder and CEO of the Reach Mama Network, is a relentless champion for women and girls. Over the past 15 years working at all levels of political campaigns and government, Karina has most recently worked in the Obama White House as Director of Congressional Affairs and Director of Outreach and Recruitment. In these roles she maintained relationship with Congress and helped attract and retain diverse talent to join President Obama’s political team.

Karina also worked at the Department of Energy, as Senior Advisor, providing strategic advice to the Secretary of Energy on how to advance President Obama’s energy priorities with Governors and Mayors and advocacy organizations.

Karina honed her policy chops in the U.S. Senate as Senior Policy Advisor for New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand and for the New York City Comptroller’s Office.  Karina has also worked on numerous political campaigns including two presidential campaigns (Obama 08′ and Kerry 04′).  

Karina serves as a board member to the Latino Foundation of Silicon Valley and as a member of the Latino for a Fair Judiciary. 

She holds a Master’s of Science in Urban Policy from New School University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with minors in Business and Public Relations, from Mount St. Mary College.  She is also a Coro alumni. 

Karina resides in San Francisco with her husband and two children.
