The Family Engagement Institute (FEI) from Foothill College serves as a college bridge program where families and educators together grow the skills, tools, and agency to successfully navigate educational systems and build capacity to promote family engagement, school and workforce readiness, and pathways to post-secondary education.
The HFSV partners with FEI to provide 8-week parent classes that teach and inspires aspirations such as college completion for first-generation students and families; practicing 21st-century learning skills: collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, and courage; nurturing mutual support between students, families and educators; understanding socioemotional and academic well being of racially and linguistically diverse students; and more.
