Some of our team members had the opportunity to attend Silicon Valley Education Foundation’s Women in STEM Leadership 2023 event.
SV[E]F honored and elevated women in STEM, such as Dr. Carmen Domingo, Monica Tijerina, and Georgina Baca. Katalina Huerta, our Latina in Technology Scholar, LBLA senior fellow, and current Girls Who Code facilitator, co-moderated the STEM panel alongside Dr. Lisa Andrew.
Born and raised in San Jose, Katalina began getting involved with the Hispanic Foundation as a child, participating in the Step-Up to Algebra program in partnership with SV[E]F.
Inspired by the early STEM exposure, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science from Whitworth University and is working toward attending a master’s degree program in Physician Assistant studies.
What a fantastic night to recognize the women trailblazers making waves in STEM and to inspire our team as we work to pave the path for our young women in STEM.
